
Schneider Excavating is a modern company using all the available technology to serve our customers to maximum aptitude. We specialize in commercial and industrial projects that involve site development, footing excavation, backfill and site grading.
Estimating
• Competitive, computer-generated estimates
• Utilize software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and
Agtek, a three dimensional earthwork modeling program.
• Using these tools we meticulously develop quality takeoffs and thorough bids.
• Bidding to satisfied customers by invitation and also looking for new
customers. Job changes are processed immediately and relayed to the
engineering department and the field crews for implementation, creating
virtually no downtime.
Engineering
• We have a Professional Engineer on staff and a fully functional Engineering
and grade control department. We perform all of our own staking and layout.
This means no additional engineering costs for the owner or developer
• Horizontal and Vertical controls are set increasing the efficiency of our
Operating Engineers.
• Cad files are coupled with the site for staking. We run Topcon GPS grade
control on all of our job sites.
• A Topcon APL-1 robotic total station is implemented for pinpoint accuracy
• We not only do site topography for ourselves, but we can also provide this
service to others.
• GPS grade control systems use 3d models of the site which requires no
staking. This equates to less down time and a quicker response time to job
changes. Site surveys and asbuilts are produced in house by our engineering
department as requested by the customer.
Excavating / Grading
• Virtually all of our equipment has utilizes Topcon grade control technology
for more efficient and accurate excavation.
• GPS grade control devices save on a substantial amount of labor which we
may then reflect back to our customers as a cost savings. For surfaces that
require a tolerance of less than 1”, we offer MM GPS, which is accurate to
0.02’.
Accounting
• Our accounting system is designed specifically for the construction industry.
• The majority of our accounting is done in-house which expedites our
receivable and payable process.
• We also prepare our own in-house payroll and job costing.
Maintenance
• We have our own maintenance staff.
• Preventative maintenance program.
• If repairs are needed, they are completed quickly (out in the field or in the
shop) with minimal delay to the project.
Communication
There is constant communication between the field, our estimating
department, and our engineering department.
• Our management team and staff carry mobile phones so that they may be
reached in a reasonable amount of time if a customer needs them.
• We are always in contact with our field personnel with two-way radios.
• To stay apprised to changing weather factors affecting current jobs, we have
our own radar system in the office.
